👥 Who: Troop 25 Scouts and adult leaders.

🎯 Why: Join Troop 25 for the weekly meeting. This month Scouts will study the Chess Merit Badge, work with their patrols, and continue advancement.

Program Overview

Uniform: Scouts are expected to wear their Class A (field uniform) to weekly troop meetings.

Reservations due: Submit reservations for Spookoree Campout by the end of this meeting.

Instruction, discussion, and activities supporting the Chess Merit Badge.

Patrol time for planning, teamwork, and Scout-led business.

Troop announcements and individual advancement work as the meeting plan allows.

📘 Monthly Merit Badge: Chess Merit Badge

Scouts learn chess history, rules, notation, etiquette, openings, strategy, and tactics. The badge also develops planning, concentration, critical thinking, decision-making, and good sportsmanship through instruction and actual play.

Meetings may cover only part of the badge. Scouts must work with an approved merit badge counselor and complete each current requirement as written; participation alone does not guarantee completion.
