Welcome to Troop 25! We're excited to have your Scout join our troop family. This guide will help you understand what to expect and how to get the most out of your Scouting experience.
Getting Started
What to Bring to Your First Meeting
- Your Scout in comfortable clothes suitable for outdoor adventures
- Scout handbook (if you have one)
- Notebook and pen for taking notes
- Any completed paperwork from your registration
Meeting Schedule
We meet every Wednesday evening from 6:45–8:15 PM. Check our calendar for location, specific dates and any schedule changes.
Weekly meetings are held on Wednesday nights.
What Your Scout Will Need
Uniform Requirements
A complete Class A uniform consists of:
- Scout shirt with appropriate patches
- Scout pants or shorts
- Scout belt
- Scout socks
- Neckerchief and slide

Essential Equipment
- Scouts BSA Handbook
- Merit Badge worksheets (as needed)
- Personal camping gear (list provided separately)
Parent Involvement
Parent involvement is crucial to the success of our troop. There are many ways to get involved:
- Volunteer as a Merit Badge Counselor
- Help with transportation for adventures
- Assist with fundraising events
- Join the Troop Committee
- Become an Assistant Scoutmaster
Costs and Fees
Scouting does involve some costs. We work hard to keep expenses reasonable and offer fundraising opportunities. Typical expenses include:
- Annual registration and insurance fees
- Uniform and handbook
- Camping trip fees
- Summer camp
- Merit badge books and materials
