📋 Event Info
📝 Details:
"We were one of two troops to do this last year, and it was really neat." Mr. Hotaling.
Saturday May 16th
Jefferson Barracks Hike will take place. This is open to Cub Scouts, Scouts and Venturing Units.
Checking in at the hike will begin at 9:00 a.m.
The hike is approximately 5 miles but during the hike the Scouts will be viewing many monuments, Missouri Civil War Museum, Jefferson Barracks POW-MIA Museum, Jefferson Barracks Ordnance Museum, Powder Magazine Museum and the Jefferson Barracks Telephone Museum. The Scouts will be able to be at a spot where they can see the large view of the Mississippi River, they will go past the Army/Air National Guard post and will be close to a large military tank, they will see St. Bernadette Catholic Church which used to be a movie theater for the World War II military. They will also go past the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. We will also have military veterans at different areas for the scuts to visit with them and answer questions from the scouts.
The hike is not long in miles, but it will take time for the scouts to visit all the above. If you are worried that your Scouts can not make all the 5 miles there is an area for them to stop at about 2 1/2 miles.
